Typically most people will enjoy 2 shells (100ml serves approx.). To make up a 200ml batch you'll need warm water (not hot) and 20g of MeloMelo Noble Kava Powder, our Kava Staining Bag and a mixing bowl.

The general rule is 10 parts water to 1 part MeloMelo Kava Powder. So if making up a batch for a few people use this metric. i.e 1000ml (1lt) water would require 100g MeloMelo Kava Powder.

Place 40g of MeloMelo Noble Kava Powder into the Kava Straining Bag & tie it well closed.
Place your warm (not hot) water into your mixing bowl.
Submerge the straining bag into the water and ensure Kava becomes water logged.
Allow to sit just like that for at least 15 minutes. This will allow the Kavalactones to release. The warm water really assists this process.
Take the bag now and squeeze and wring the bag out to release as much liquid as possible.
Soak the straining bag back into the liquid again and repeat step 5, 3-4 more times for best results.
Extract as much liquid as possible on the final squeeze and you should be left with a very earthy brown looking kava beverage. You will lose some water to the kava powder - so really try to squeeze as much out as you can.
Serve into your coconut shell at about 100ml serve and enjoy!

Kava does have a very earthy taste, so commonly people will either take a chaser of a fruit juice shot or even eat some meats to cleanse the palate. There are many things people do now from sucking on lollipops, eating chocolate and really anything to refresh the mouth. Just bear in mind that Kava is most effective on an empty stomach, so avoid eating a meal with or before hand.

Space your shells 15-20 minutes apart for best results. As always Kava should always be enjoyed in moderation and can cause drowsiness.
